Collabro will launch their highly anticipated third album "Home" on March 3rd 2017. This is the band's first album since becoming a quartet and is tipped to be their best work yet. Featuring soaring vocals and close harmonies with songs from Les Miserables, Wicked, Jekyll & Hyde, Jersey Boys, Miss Saigon, Sondheim, Disney and more. The boys are also preparing to embark on a 2017 UK & USA tour.
They met in 2014 above a pub in London for their first rehearsal and only a month later went on to rouse the whole of the Hammersmith Apollo into a standing ovation during their first ever public performance of Stars in their first audition for Britain’s Got Talent. Having won their semi-final heat with over 63% of the votes, they then won the overall competition with one of the biggest majorities ever and subsequently signed to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, becoming label mates with the likes of One Direction, Little Mix, Susan Boyle and Il Divo.
In the two years since the competition, Collabro have released a number one debut album “Stars”, and their follow up album “Act Two” peaked at number two in the charts in the summer of 2015. They have performed at the Royal Variety Performance, twice on Britain’s Got a Talent, most recently the ten-year grand final compilation of past contestants, and become enormously successful internationally. Notably, they have performed for over 30 million people in Japan on Music Station on two separate occasions, completing a tour there and winning a gold disc award for top international artist alongside Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor. They have also completed two tours of America and signed a major record deal there.
Collabro were originally a five piece of Jamie Lambert, Michael Auger, Matthew Pagan, Thomas Redgrave and Richard Hadfield. In 2016 Hadfield decided to leave the band in pursuit of other projects and his other band mates wished him well.
Collabro, now made up of Matt, Tom, Jamie and Michael, are excited for the future and have already performed to 7 million people on Soccer aid 2016 to critical appraise and excellent reviews from the press for their first performance as a four piece. Currently, the band are planning their next tours of Canada, Japan and America, their performance at the 2016 BBC Proms in the Park and are looking forward to producing their third album with Sony for early 2017.
Jamie started singing at age 13 when he played Marius in a school edition of Les Miserables. He also played Harold Bride in Titanic and Mr Bumble in Oliver. He then went on to win three national singing competitions and began to train classically. Having achieved one of the highest marks in the country for his Grade 8 singing, Jamie went on to compete in several regional and national competitions, winning prestigious titles for so young an age. He also used his voice to raise money to go to Tanzania and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, and renovate a local village school.
After spending five years gigging and competing, Jamie decided to pursue academic interests and studied Spanish at the University of Leeds – this included spending a year as a primary school teacher in Madrid. During this time he continued his training as a singer at the Opera House in Madrid and with various esteemed teachers. After his year abroad, Jamie returned to Leeds and, during his final year, joined a big band as a vocalist. They recorded an album and went on a tour of France.
After finishing university with an Honours degree, Jamie decided to pursue his love of Musical Theatre and moved to London where he auditioned for roles along the West End and trained as a vocal coach. Then, he found Collabro and the rest is history! He can’t believe how lucky he is and remembers the days when he, his Mum and his Sister would travel the country for gigs with a small P.A kit in the back of his Mum’s car.
Jamie’s favourite colour is burgundy, his favourite hobbies are gardening, cooking, wine and playing X box, and his favourite song in the world is “Nightswimming” by R.E.M – he can often be found on a chair on his balcony looking after his plants and watching the world go by!
Michael grew up in a home filled with laughter and music. He always loved making home videos and would always be singing along to CDs in car journeys. He would always tell everyone he was going to be the next TV presenter on Blue Peter!
Michael joined Petersfield Youth Theatre at the age of 6 and loved being part of an amazing company and made some great friends and got to perform in some amazing shows, but it wasn’t until he went to university that he realised he wanted to be a professional performer.
Michael has a 2.1 honours degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Bath & spent one year of his University life on a placement at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. After his placement year he auditioned for the University musical and got the lead role. He then realised that pursuing accountancy wasn’t his dream and decided to look for options in performing professionally.
Michael trained for 1 year at the London School of Musical Theatre and after receiving his diploma, he went straight to the Collabro audition. He cannot believe how lucky he was that all the stars aligned so quickly and is so excited for the future of Collabro.!
Michael has a HUGE sweet tooth and will always have chocolate or sweets in his bag! He is always up for playing games, be that sport, intellectual or just random fun (as long as he wins!) He loves spending time with his family and lives by the motto: ‘You’re never fully dressed without a smile’ .
Thomas started singing at the age of seven when he joined Louth St. James’s church choir as a chorister. It’s here that he first found a love for music and harmony. The year after, at the age of eight, Thomas performed in his very first play, Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons”, as a part of the “Louth Playgoers Association”. From that point on he was hooked on theatre and would perform in local pantomimes, musicals and plays over the next eight years, his favourite part being that of Oliver in “Oliver”.
After school Thomas went on to study Performing Arts and Music Performance at Lincoln College, taking on parts such as Jesus in “Godspell” and Captain Walker in The Who’s “Tommy”, before moving to London where he earned a degree in Musical Theatre from the University of West London through the London College of Music.
From there Thomas auditioned and worked in London as a performer, serving in Japanese restaurant Kiraku while in between jobs. It was in one of these auditions that Thomas was accepted into a, then nameless, band which would go onto become something bigger than he’d ever dreamed.
If Thomas isn’t singing you’ll usually find him playing video games. Pokémon, Zelda and Final Fantasy being his main vices. There are some things you just never grow out of.
Matt started singing at the age of 15 where he played “Artful Dodger” in his school’s production of Oliver! He then joined multi-award winning youth theatre StagedRight. In StagedRight he played Riff in West Side Story and Sir John in Me And My Girl. He also did the “pubs and clubs” circuit throughout Cumbria for 3 years and made a name for himself singing swing music.
Before singing, Matt had a passion for cooking. At the age of 14 he got job working in a kitchen in a hotel after completing work experience, where they kept him on and trained him as a chef. He worked there for two years before moving to another restaurant.
After that, Matt worked as a salesman before getting job in Spain for 6 month entertaining guests in a hotel. This is where he met Jamie who was working in Cyprus doing the same contract. Who knew what was going to happen?! After playing the role of the Prince in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, he found Collabro and .. well, you know the rest!
Matt’s hobbies are cooking, football, golf, going the theatre, cinema – and being cheeky.
